About our Ballenger Creek office

Our Ballenger Creek office is located in southwest Frederick County, in one of the area's most established family neighborhoods. Ballenger Creek is known for its parks, schools, and residential communities. Many of the families we work with live nearby and appreciate having a trauma-specialized practice within their own community rather than driving into downtown Frederick.

This office is home to our Clinical Director, Sarah Martin, who brings over eight years of experience in trauma treatment with a particular focus on medical trauma, adoption, and foster care. The Ballenger Creek team works with children, teens, adults, and families. The office also houses Nkechi Achinanya, our Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, who provides medication management for clients ages 12 and up, including those with mood disorders, anxiety, PTSD, and autism spectrum concerns.

Treatment approaches available at this location include EMDR, Alpha-Stim, brainspotting, somatic therapy, attachment therapy, expressive arts, play therapy, CBT, and client-centered methods. This is the only TSMD location offering Alpha-Stim. The team is LGBTQ+ affirming, and several clinicians have experience with trauma across the lifespan, from young children to aging adults.
