About Amber
Amber Byers is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor who earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Towson University. She works with children, teens, and adults on anxiety, trauma, and emotional neglect, with a particular focus on neurodivergence, including autism, ADHD, and giftedness. Blending IFS-informed parts work, somatic techniques, and polyvagal theory, she helps clients understand their own nervous system and stress responses, bringing mind, body, and spirit into the work. Coping and regulation skills come first, before any trauma processing begins.
Born and raised in Maryland, Amber has never left. She believes people have the capacity for change when they are held in all of their humanness. Trauma can leave someone disconnected from themselves and others, and she does this work so people can know healing is possible. She makes polymer clay jewelry, is learning the Native American flute, and lives with her cat, Peony. Italy is the dream, for the Colosseum, the art museums, and the pizza.
“Sometimes the hardest decision to make is whether or not to reach out for support.”
