About Beth
Beth Johnson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland, with more than fifteen years of clinical experience across inpatient psychiatric hospitals, medical offices, mental health clinics, and detention facilities. She works with adults from their twenties through later life on anxiety, depression, grief and loss, mood disorders, and medical trauma. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and integrates a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to each client's individual needs. Her clinical approach draws from person-centered therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy, and exposure-based approaches, while consistently incorporating trauma-informed strategies. She strives to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where clients can explore their experiences, develop greater self-awareness, strengthen coping skills, and move toward meaningful healing and growth. She believes therapy is a collaborative process and meets each client with empathy, respect, and an understanding of the ways past experiences can influence present-day thoughts, emotions, relationships, and behaviors.
Beth is a mom of three, a son and boy-girl twins. Away from the office she enjoys time with friends, decorating, shopping, and fashion.
“Strength comes from overcoming hard times, holding on when things get tough, and believing in yourself.”
