About Cecilia
Cecilia Smith is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor who earned her BA and MS in Applied Psychology and Mental Health Counseling from Pace University. She works with young adults and adults on stress, trauma, anxiety, addiction, and life and school transitions. She has a particular passion for working with young adults and women as they think through what comes next. Raised to treat curiosity as a strength, she draws on EMDR, strengths-based, mindfulness, and nature-based interventions. She takes an active role, and once trust is established she will challenge you, with accountability for change and grace for setbacks.
Cecilia grew up in Frederick and, after years in New York City, moved back home to be near family and nature. She believes community is the cornerstone of long-term wellness and connects clients with local resources to find theirs. Away from the office she loves being outdoors, being creative, and moving her body. She recently became SCUBA certified and is glad to see where it takes her.
