About Mary
Mary Lockyer-Bratton, a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor, earned her Master of Science in Applied Psychology from the University of Baltimore. She works with adults from college age through retirement on trauma, anxiety, and depression. Some of it comes from a single event; some built up over years. Trauma-informed and person-centered, she is trained in EMDR and draws on IFS, somatic, and psychodynamic work, with attention to what the body holds as well as the story. Her core value is authenticity. The more real she can be in the room, the deeper the work.
Mary spent years as a therapy client herself and wanted to offer the same kind of help she received. She is intentional about making room for underserved and marginalized communities and is LGBTQIA+ affirming. Heavy sessions need laughter too. Originally from Arizona, she spends her off hours making things: crochet, knitting, macrame, anything involving yarn, usually with something witchy on TV and her cat Layla nearby.
“It doesn't have to feel like this forever.”
