About Rebecca
Rebecca Gibson is a Licensed Master Social Worker who has spent more than a decade alongside survivors of interpersonal and sexual violence, on crisis lines and in hospital emergency rooms. She earned her Master of Social Work from Tulane University. She helps teens and adults work through PTSD and complex trauma, with particular interest in first responders and military trauma. She draws on EMDR, somatic work, and strengths-based, person-centered care. The work stays transparent and collaborative, with humor where it helps and no forced silver linings.
Her path started in Baltimore County and ran through Penn State, New Orleans, and Durham, North Carolina. There she worked with people harmed by violence in university and workplace settings, and later with people who had caused harm. She believes no human is a lost cause. Rebecca is LGBTQIA+ affirming. Back home in Maryland, she runs, makes mosaics, and changes her hair color often. She supports Arsenal, and her two cats have opinions.
“Pain is part of the human experience, but suffering does not have to be.”
