About Juana
Juana Zegarra is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and trauma practitioner with more than twenty years of experience. She works with teens and adults, with her deepest experience in trauma and gender dysphoria, alongside ADHD, depression, and anxiety. She is certified in EMDR and draws on IFS, DBT, CBT, and nature-informed therapy, always client-centered and collaborative. She completed a certificate program at the Transgender Institute in Philadelphia and belongs to the World Professional Association for Transgender Health. She especially welcomes LGBTQ+ clients and Spanish-speaking families.
Juana was born and raised in Peru and came to the United States for college. Crossing cultures as an immigrant still shapes how she connects with clients. After years in Cape May County, New Jersey, she and her wife settled in Rehoboth Beach, a place they love for its LGBTQ+ warmth. She dances salsa, hikes, walks her dog, and travels with her wife to try new countries and foods.
