About Devon
Devon Kobie Carter is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor who earned his Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a certificate in Thanatology from Hood College. The Thanatology training gives him particular depth with grief and loss. He works with preteens through adults on anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorders, and sexual impulsivity. He is trained in EMDR, and his eclectic approach runs mainly through ACT and CBT, with mindfulness and narrative work woven in. He aims to be an advocate for change and a steady supporter, guided by honesty, integrity, autonomy, and trust.
A Maryland native from Pasadena, Devon was always the person people came to with their problems. His three goldendoodles are Tanner, Teagan, and Tate. He has an identical twin brother with almost the same name, and he works at Medieval Times. To decompress he golfs, hikes, or finds a spot near the water, his music swinging from country to trap to classic hip-hop.
“I'm here to drop the anchor and wait out the storm with you.”
