About Jamie
Jamie Sedgwick is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with more than fifteen years in the mental health field, over ten of them specializing in trauma. She is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and an EMDR Basic Trainer. Her clinical focus is complex trauma, with a particular interest in personality disorders and in reducing the stigma that often surrounds them. She works to meet each client where they are and builds the treatment plan collaboratively, so the direction of the work belongs to the person doing it.
She credits her EMDR training with completely changing her therapy practice, and she now serves as Training Director for the Trauma Specialists Training Institute, teaching other clinicians to bring EMDR to their own clients. She keeps a small caseload at our Urbana office because therapy will always be her passion.
