How We Help

Find the care that fits.

Three ways to browse our work: by what you're experiencing, by who you are, or by the treatment approach you're curious about. They all lead to the same place.

Most people who reach out to us are not sure what to ask for. They know something is off. They've heard a few words like trauma, EMDR, or anxiety, and they're trying to figure out which one fits and what to do about it. The pages below are organized to help you find the door that makes sense for you.

There is no wrong way in. If you'd rather skip the browsing and just talk to a person, scheduling a consultation is the most direct path. We can help you sort out what kind of work might fit, and there's no commitment to start care from a consultation.

Start here

By what you're experiencing

If a specific experience or symptom brought you here, this is the most direct way to find the work that fits. Each page describes the condition in plain language, the approaches we use for it, and what to expect.

Not sure what you're carrying counts as trauma? Our trauma symptoms guide walks through how trauma shows up across emotional, body, cognitive, and relational dimensions. Or if you want to go deeper on a specific framing: PTSD, complex PTSD, and childhood trauma each have dedicated pages.

There is no wrong door. Whatever brought you here is enough to start a conversation.

Practical things

Before you reach out

A few questions come up before most first calls. These pages cover the answers most people are looking for.

If you are in crisis right now

We are an outpatient practice and not a crisis service. If you or someone you love is in immediate danger or thinking about suicide, please call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or go to your nearest emergency room. Help is available right now.

Not sure where to start?

A consultation is a low-pressure way to talk through what's going on and figure out whether we're the right fit. There's no commitment to start care from a consultation, and we're glad to point you elsewhere if another practice is a better match.

If a form doesn't feel right, you can also email us at info@traumaspecialistsofmd.com. We're here either way.
